We have a precious new Valentine with us this year! Muñoz party of 5 is coming this summer, by the Lord’s will. ❤️

To think our little family started 8 years ago, when a godly young man decided to send a Valentine’s gram to my freshman dorm room, to my great surprise! Only God knew what a sweet and sanctifying story He was weaving.
.
Now as I look to this man I’ve married, my forever Valentine, I’m not only in love with his handsome, humorous, and humble traits that caught my attention back then, but his continual desire to see God glorified in all things. Whether preaching or playing with our babies on the living room floor, he serves sacrificially and passionately in ways that melt my heart. I love you to the moon and back @i_m_thisguy 😘

There’s a few reasons why I haven’t posted sin

There’s a few reasons why I haven’t posted since 2019, but I’ll share more about that in another coming post. 😁
.
For now I’ll say that January was marked by sitting in Romans 8, and savoring that the will of God is always good, always to be trusted, always abounding in hope.
.
Why? Because everything happens for a reason - and as my ladies’ Bible study remembered this week - not just any reason. Every single day’s events, with all their delights and despairs, happen for THIS reason: to sharpen our spirit so we may look more like the blessed, pure, loving, holy, glorious image of Christ. ❤️
.

One year ago today this little one was admitted to

One year ago today this little one was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with leukemia. We’ve been hugging our dear Amariah tight, and thanking our Lord with tears. It’s a bittersweet anniversary.
.
I have to admit inner anguish that it happened still jolts my heart every now and then. And yet the Spirit allows that very anguish to lead me to revel in the gospel. The anguish is always calmed and redeemed by the only truth powerful enough: Jesus came to save. Jesus gives us a thrill of hope, a hope that cannot be thwarted. Though last Christmas wasn’t “merry” as we typically expect it to be, it caused a greater, purer wonder to arise that God sent His Son among us to rescue us from the clutches of sin and death and begin the work of making the world new.
.
From the first day of treatment until now, He’s given us reason after reason to proclaim “You are faithful.” It’s become an anthem. We reach this day and can’t tell Amariah “I love you” enough! But we also say in our hearts, “oh how we love you, Jesus!”
.
Even as we’re able to enjoy the sights of the season this year - avenues of lights, shopping trips as family, time around the sparkling tree instead of the hospital - we’ve been humbled to know that true Christmas joy is rooted in acknowledging that the Light of the World broke into the darkness, gifting us eternal life. ❤️
.
P.S. We can’t say thank you enough to all of you who have lovingly prayed for, encouraged, and supported us this year! .

What if we never received another “blessing” i

What if we never received another “blessing” in this life? Yet even then, even if we are sitting in ashes like Job, we have Jesus. Oh to have such faith - to believe that Jesus alone is truly enough!
.
That heaven need send nothing more, because Christ has come and will come. To believe that Jesus is the only gift we need, and all else is added grace that does not better Him but only enhances His glorious love.
Surely we are surrounded by good things, but may they fade in comparison to our foremost Treasure. Let’s dare to believe this everyday. Let’s proclaim His surpassing worth.

Let’s answer the complaints that fight to rise and the tears that threaten to fall with inner and outer rejoicing that Jesus has made us His, and has made Himself ours. 💗
.
“Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ
9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-
10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.” Philippians 3:8-11

Happy 1st Birthday to my sweet boy Ezra! 🎉 Though his first year has been a bit overshadowed by Amariah’s difficult diagnosis, he’s been such a tremendous joy and comfort to us every single day. Tears come to my eyes reflecting on holding him close when the moments weren’t easy, and the smiles he has brought us all. As always, God knew what He was doing when He gifted us a son last December. A son who loves to laugh and dance and eat and snuggle, a son who gives us dreams of the man of God we pray and hope he will be. As his name means, he’s surely been a “help” to us as a family. We love you beyond words little Ezra. It’s a priceless blessing to watch you grow. Already your life has in many ways shown us that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Even in the midst of weeping there can be rejoicing, because He is a gracious God. ❤️

“And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, "This day is holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn or weep." For all the people wept as they heard the words of the Law.
